Your responsibilities

Duties include teaching and research in the respective department or institute. Research associates may also pursue independent research and further academic qualifications as well as acquire teaching experience. These duties are intended to promote academic achievement. Therefore, at least one-third of set working hours will be made available for the associate’s own academic work.

The teaching load is 5 hours per semester, and comprises both own courses and tutorials, as well as the supervision of Bachelor's and Master's theses. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a collegial and research-oriented team, as part of a dynamic department.

Your profile

A university degree in a relevant subject plus doctorate.

A PhD in economics, mathematics or a related field is desirable. We are looking for a committed junior researcher specializing in applied microeconomics (preferably in the fields of industrial or organizational economics) who is able to connect to the research and third-party funding activities of the chair and the Department of Economics. We also expect some experience in experimental and behavioral economics and microeconometrics, as well as very good computer skills (e.g. Python, C++, JavaScript, oTree, Prolific). Due to the international and research-oriented work environment, excellent English skills are required for the position. A good command of German is advantageous, but not mandatory.
